The Constant Battle of Consistency

Good to see you again! Don't forget to subscribe to my RSS feed. You don't want to miss out on upcoming valuable posts and opportunities!

Consistency is the key to success in anything. We hear this over and over.

  • Be consistent in blog posts
  • Be consistent in social media
  • Be consistent with network meetings
  • Be consistent with personal education
  • Be consistent with ads
  • Be consistent with follow up

I  think any of us entrepreneurs, business owners, or network marketers understand the value of consistency. The challenge everyone runs into is time. It seems that “everything” feels urgent and it is easy to have too much on our plates. It is easy to get overwhelmed with tasks and get paralyzed by perfection.

Type A personalities often get hung up on making everything perfect and spending too much time on a particular task. It is good to strive for perfection, but don’t get so hung up on it that you find you’ve not accomplished any of your tasks for the day.

Try to have a daily road map. Actually write it down. If you are working from home, get up early and treat your work from home business just like you would an 8-5 job. Working from home is not about sleeping in every day until 10am.

Outline your staple tasks for the day and the best time to accomplish them, leaving open time for scheduling other tasks that can vary on a regular basis.

There may be some tasks that you can’t do daily and you need to alternate them with other tasks. It would be better to post on your blog 3 times a week in order to accomplish network meetings on alternating days, rather than try to cram them all in every day and end up overloaded and under-productive.

I also think this comes from the desire to reach your goals faster. Sometimes fast is ok, but most of the time, in the end, it is “slow and steady” that wins the race. Don’t be so hard on yourself, cut yourself some slack and be realistic about what you can accomplish in a 24 hour period and still have adequate time for yourself, your family, and proper rest to keep yourself healthy and refueled for the next day. You are only one person after all.

Affiliate PPC Programs

Cash and Pay-per-click Affiliate Programs

Everyday, millions are paying to get a ride on the Information Super Highway . Now, it is widely known that the Internet is an accessible resource of many income-generating activities. Whether you belong to a private sales company or you are just interested in internet marketing, PPC affiliate programs can be a powerful venue to make money from the Internet. A partnership with an affiliate merchant is a win-win situation for the merchant and the affiliate: sales are soaring because of exposure and traffic while the affiliate is earning good cash.

To make things much simpler: the affiliate merchant provides a strip of advertisement and pays you when someone clicks on the ad’s link. You can get a commission for  every click, depending on your merchant affiliate. Sometimes, merchants require a quota.  Sometimes you can get discounts from your merchant affiliates, if you happen to like their products . You can just kick back and relax while your website is generating cash. Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

What is a PCC Affiliate Program?

PPC means pay-per-click, wherein you get in partnership with an affiliate company that literally pays you for every click. There are actually two types of PCC affiliate programs – those who pay a commission based on the number of clicks and the other based on the sales. The pay-per-click scheme is much more popular than pay-per-lead because the affiliate gets paid by just clicking the ad, regardless of whether the visitor buys from the affiliate merchant or not. Plus the chances of a visitor purchasing something from the affiliate merchant are not really that high.

In choosing an affiliate program, read the fine print carefully – some pay-per-click programs get the ratio of the number of people who went to your site and the actual people who clicked on the ad. If you have a heavily targeted website, this can hurt your earnings.

How do I start?

Of course, you need to have a website. Depending on your target audience, choose the best affiliate merchant that is most related to your topic. For example, your website is about Carpentry then you can search for affiliate programs that sell tools used in carpentry.

Now you face the  dilemma – how to increase website traffic! You first need to get internet surfers to see your website, then the ad.

How do I increase my traffic?

First, designing a user-friendly site is always recommended so that the customers will know which advertisements to click. Place ads in strategic locations, make sure they look professional, and consider the overall look and feel of the advertisement.

You can also post links to your website in forums, web communities, ezine articles or bulletin boards. Make sure you follow the rules and do not post outbound links when forum or communities has asked you not to. The key is to do something once and then put it on autopilot.  Be sure to track down site activity, so you are updated on effectiveness of your marketing strategies.
